Iron Sharpens Iron – March 2026

Event Date:

March 26, 2026

Event Description

Nigel Halliday‘s novel Taboo was published last year, and he joins us this month to talk about the process of novel writing as a Christian.  How does the Christian worldview shape the narrative and character development?   And how overt can that be without becoming preachy?  To what extent is the author identified with the narrator, and does that shape what can be said?   What does fiction offer that more overt apologetics don’t?   For Christian writers, are some things ’taboo’?

_________

Iron Sharpens Iron is all about sharpening up as a disciple of Jesus Christ. We are inspired by Proverbs 27:17,

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Iron Sharpens Iron is completely free and open to anyone – please book at the link below. We also invite you to donate towards our work (suggested amount: £5 per event). If you wish to donate an amount not given below, or set up a regular donation, you can donate online (opens in a new tab).

Each event starts at 8pm when our guest is interviewed or presents a short talk, after which we have time for discussion. We want everyone to ask questions. We encourage heated debate in Christian spirit! We want to learn from each other so we can bear fruit for Jesus Christ, the Lord of heaven and earth. Join at 7.50pm to chat with other participants.

Meetings take place on Zoom. Click “Register for this event” below and then on the next page, click “Place Order”. You’ll receive an order confirmation email, and then the Zoom link and details will be sent in a second email. If you don’t receive these, please check your Promotions, Clutter, ‘Other’, Spam, or Junk folders (depending on your email provider), as order confirmations often get intercepted.
